Jyothi Lakshmi (1948–2016) was a popular Indian actress and dancer known for her roles in over 130 South Indian films. She rose to fame in the 1970s with lead and female-oriented roles, especially in Tamil and Telugu cinema. A trained dancer, she debuted in Vanambadi (1963). Her popularity declined in the 1980s with the rise of her sister Jayamalini. She is known for Thedi Vandha Mapillai and Periya Edathu Penn. Her daughter Jyothi Meena is also an actress.
